My 40th Bday!
Hello my dear readers! My today's post won't be very useful. I am not going to give any advices. I just want to share how I celebrated my birthday! :-)
Here are the links to my videos: My Birthday with Girls and My Vacation with My Family.
I must say that a month ago I was almost depressed about the fact that I was turning 40. But my family and m friends made my birthday so special! They excided my expectations so much! I couldn't even dream about so much love and kindness that I got from them. I am very thankful for my family and friends and I feel blessed!
Before my birthday vacation on August 14th I went for brunch with my friends Kelly, Sally and Cheryl to Deer Path Inn Hotel. It is our tradition, we go to tis place every year. My girls brought beautiful flowers and a lot of gifts. I was so happy!
For dinner I went to Chicago restaurant Maple and Ash with my friends Maryann, Liz and Guzel. Maryann and Liz brought flowers and very cute balloons. I love birthday balloons, ha-ha!
On August 18th I went to Saratoga Springs to celebrate my birthday with my aunt Anna and uncle Gerard. It was such a bliss!!! They were so kind and caring, and did so much to me! On my birthday we went to a very fancy restaurant. I ate so much, that my belly looked like I was pregnant, ha-ha. The place was amazing, the food was delicious. And I got Amazon gift card! Yay! My aunt also was able to find birthday card on Russian. I thought it was super cool!
Next day we went to Norman Rockwell Museum and to Edith Wharton's home. In museum besides awesome paintings created by Norman Rockwell himself hey also had exhibition of fantasy artists. It was very interesting! And Edith's house was gorgeous. It is interesting that there was someone who lived in such a beautiful place. I wonder how it feels when you wake up see all this beauty around you. After walk we had a picnic. It was yummy and relaxing. And it was funny that right after we finished eating it started raining. Perfect timing, ha-ha. We have been lucky with the weather the whole time.
Then we drove to Vermont. I thought it was so awesome that I was able to visit different states in one day! I enjoyed the drive. What I noticed in New York State and in Vermont was that they had more older houses, built in 18-19th centuries. Some of these houses are very cute and have some unique style. In Chicago I haven't seen these type of houses. We saw he place where Norman Rockwell lived and where he created his "Four Freedoms" masterpiece in 1943. It was very interesting. His house became a retreat and you can book a room and spend some time in his house.
Next day my aunt took me to SPA. Saratoga Springs is famous for its mineral water and they have mineral water bath. It was so relaxing! Such a pleasant experience! Too bad they don't have these baths in Chicago.
We also visited Saratoga park with springs themselves. It was a beautiful walk! I love nature and it was very interesting to see the minerals created by it. We got some healthy water right from the spring! And we burned some calories too, ha-ha.
I spent a lot of time in swimming pool. At some point I even fell asleep on a float, this is how relaxing it was!
On my last day my uncle took me to the woods, so I had a chance to spend more time on the nature, before I came back to a big city. We also saw a self-service farmers market on our way home. I thought it was cool! There were some veggies right by the road without the seller. And you could just take them by yourself and leave money in the box. I thought that it was awesome. I love when people trust others.
I also enjoyed playing with Mario and Luigi, my aunt's and uncle's cats. They are so cute and adorable! Mario is a little bit more independent and Luigi is like a puppy, he likes attention and to be pet. Both of them are wonderful kitties and I already miss them!
I still cannot believe how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family and friends! Life is very kind to me! And I am wishing you to have a lot of blessings in your life too!
